For a Black Friday code that gives a percentage off and free shipping, and starts and stops on schedule, use OneCode: Stackable Discounts. One code, such as BFCM20, can take 20% off everything and make shipping free on orders of $50 or more. You set an end date, and the code stops working at that time without you touching it. An $80 cart saves $16 and ships free. A $40 cart saves $8 and pays for shipping.

Shopify’s own discount codes each hold one kind of discount. Without an app, the same offer is a percentage code plus a separate shipping code, and your ads and emails have to promote both.

BFCM20 at checkout: a $50 shirt reduced to $40 and a $30 tote reduced to $24, subtotal $64, Economy shipping free, total $64

Set up creator codes before the sale starts

Each item in the cart gets only one product discount, whichever saves the most. That means a creator’s 10% product code adds nothing during a 20% product sale, because the sale already saves more on every item.

Make each creator code an order discount instead, and allow the sale and the creator code to combine. Order discounts come off after product discounts, so a $100 cart drops to $80 with the sale and then to $72 with the creator’s 10%.

The full weekend plan, including the end date and creator codes, is in Black Friday on one Shopify code.

OneCode costs $9.90 USD every 30 days after a 7-day free trial, billed by Shopify. You can install it from the Shopify App Store.
